Guideline Finder

The Guideline Finder directs users to the appropriate resources to help ensure that the campus symbols, logos, and marks are used correctly on merchandise and official campus communications materials.

The campus has invested significant funds and expertise in developing, maintaining, and supporting its reputation for excellence and communicating its identity through the Illinois brand. Only certain qualifying entities are allowed to benefit from this investment and the university's worldwide brand recognition.

Users are asked to respond to a series of questions (the first appears below) and select the appropriate answer links. Campus units should use this shortcut.

First Question: University of Illinois?

Are the symbols, logos, marks, or letters associated with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or are they associated with the Chicago or Springfield campuses or with the University of Illinois System?

This includes symbols, logos, marks, or letters that identify all entities involved in academics, athletics, research, outreach, student affairs, campus services and support, and administration.
